  Over the last one hundred years, with the development of science and technology, printing equipment and technology have been improving dramatically. A variety of printing presses of offset press with 8-colour, 9-colour, and even 10-colour can be found in every corner of the globe. The demands of packaging designers are testing the limits of packaging manufacturers and the need for new ideas in production machinery is now an important factor. In the post-press industry, however, we have to face the reality that the development of converting equipment has already fallen behind that of the printing presses. One example is that the existent die cutters and foil stampers lack of speed and versatility, this inevitably causes a production imbalance.

  In 2005, a group of dedicated, ambitious young technicians from Masterwork Machinery Co., Ltd. (MK) Tianjin, China succeeded in developing a revolutionary new machine, MK920SS hot stamping machine with dual platens. The evolution of the MK920SS has brought a new concept to the conventional production systems in the packaging industry worldwide.   

  Approximately three hundred professionals from China and the international community came to Tianjin and attended MK’s 15th anniversary celebration on December 18, 2007. MK unveiled its newly-developed MK21060STE hot stamping machine with dual platens on that special occasion. The research and development of the MK21060STE is based on the technical innovations of the MK920SS. It has two stamping/die cutting stations and one stripping station with the maximum sheet size of 1060 mm by 760 mm and the maximum operating speed at 5000 IPH. Foil stamping, die cutting and stripping are able to be performed in one process. Additionally, there are several combinations of job options available, that is stamping with stamping, stamping with die cutting, stamping with embossing, embossing with die cutting, this feature mean that the machine can be adapted to suit the design of the job. The dual system will help develop new production skills and achieve improved workflow through the factory.

  The MK21060STE design guarantees a consistent accuracy of ±0.075mm, both for foil stamping and die cutting. The patented design, MP2005 foil pull drive system was developed to provide accurate and precise foil advance control. The minimum distance between stamping images is as small as 1 mm. An optional feature is the hologram foil stamping device on the MK21060STE which is a new cutting edge design, radically benefiting the hologram foil stamping performance and shim line skip function.
